No I’m not talking about a good afternoon or a new Prime Minister. A good Project Manager is invaluable in any build or renovation project and here’s why.
A Project Manager may or may not necessarily be directly involved as a project foreman but ideally they are performing a dual role to minimise the costs to the client.
Your Project Manager will plan out your timeline and coordinate the necessary trades people to be on site at the appropriate time in accordance with the schedule. The PM will have direct feedback on a day to day basis, adjusting the schedule thus taking account of delays or progress ahead of the plan.
This updated information will enable the subcontractors to be brought in at precisely the right occasion eliminating costs incurred through wasted time and people standing around waiting for others to finish up.
Your PM will also link the material orders into the schedule keeping this up to date and ensuring the required materials arrive ahead of time but not so far in advance that there is the risk of damages occurring on site.
An experienced PM is well worth the investment and the savings made by a properly managed project being delivered on time are invaluable.
