We often get asked 'What's the difference between renting or hiring a van and leasing a van ?'
Quite a bit as it happens. We explain the main points below:
Duration: The main difference between a van rental / hire and a van lease is the duration. If you have a short-term requirement for a van, say anything from 1 day to 3 months, then hiring a van is the way to go. It offers the best flexibility and value for your requirements.
On the other hand if you have a longer term requirement for a van, normally anything between 3 months and 4 years, then you should consider getting a quote for a van lease.
Flexibility: For van hire you have the same restrictions as you will when hiring a car on your holidays. You will need to collect and drop-off the van at the allocated times, be liable for damages, additional mileage and cannot customise the van in any way.
With a van lease however, you have significantly more flexibility. Our partners provide a full account management package that allows generous mileage allowances, certain wear and tear waivers, includes all maintenance and servicing for the duration of the van lease and you can customise your preferred vehicle with the fit-out that best suits your business. All that, and their van leases are flexible enough to help grow with your business.
