Typically an emergency plumber call with deal with one of the following:
- Fixing blocked or clogged toilets
- Detecting leaks and fixing in pipes
- Power flushing of radiators
- Faulty water heaters
- Water pump or pressure issues
- Clogged or blocked drains
(Please note: We deal with the pricing for Boiler Servicing, Central heating issues and other heating areas here)
While these plumbing problems vary by skillset and complexity, generally the way Plumbers charge to fix them do not.
Plumber Prices Breakdown
As standard Plumbers will price an emergency plumbing repair using a callout rate for the first hour and an hourly rate thereafter. Many plumbers do not like using the term ‘Callout Rate’ but will still charge you for the first hour – it usually still amounts to the same thing. To complicate matters you will also be quoted one rate for work during normal business hours and another for out of hours work (evenings and weekends) – with is fair enough. Typically all charges quoted will exclude VAT and any parts required. VAT for plumbing services in Ireland is currently 13.5% in 2016.
So in general your emergency plumber price will look something like the following:
Plumber Price Quote = (First hour / Callout fee )) + 13.5% VAT) + (Additional Time + 23% VAT) + (Plumbing Parts + 23% VAT)
