2021 Year In Review - Helping Tradespeople Succeed

A recap on service updates aimed to support tradesmen and their businesses.

While the world came to a partial standstill during the many Covid-19 lockdowns, the Onlinetradesmen team continued to work tirelessly to find new ways to support and improve business for our members.

Using input from our members to guide us, we made important updates and additions to our service in 2021.

These updates included more value-add benefits that continue to position us as the leading business support service for trade professionals and the only standards-based service to homeowners.

Version 5 Website Release!

Version 5 was a major service upgrade and a giant leap forward for members in the benefits and usability of our platform. Here are just a few of the highlights:

• New e-Learning & News Sections
• Upgraded Community Portal
• Enhanced Job section

An additional subscription management section allows members to control their account at all times

Even BIGGER Club Discounts!

In 2021 we went large on revamping Onlinetradesmen Discount Club, offering even bigger discounts on over 300 brands & 20,000+ products for our sister company HandyHardware including:

• Up to 15% off Abrasives, Fixings, Sealants & Everyday Consumables
• Up to 15% off Hand Tools
• Up to 15% off Paints and Varnishes

New Reputation Management Features!

We understand the importance of ratings, reviews, reputation and referral business to Trade Professionals.

To enhance the reputation services we currently provide to members, we have also added the following features:

• Request or remind customers to leave a rating direct from their Onlinetradesmen account
• Promote ratings with a Badge linked on their Onlinetradesmen Pro-Website or own website

These new tools now make it that little bit easier for members to manage their reputation, raise business profiles online and increase exposure to new customers.

New TradeyPay Escrow - Get Paid Every Time!

Removing payment uncertainty that every Trade Pro faces on the job was our top priority when launching this new escrow service for our members and their customers.

Here is a bit about what this new service now means:

• TradeyPay Escrow ensures that your customers (whether a homeowner or a contractor) have funds in place for a job before you get started. No more wondering if you are going to get paid.
• TradeyPay Escrow means no more delayed payments. Once you complete the agreed work, money is released to you.
• TradeyPay Escrow is simple to use directly from your Onlinetradesmen account and you collect 100% of the payment. No fees.

A Surge in Jobs!

2021 delivered more jobs than ever on our service with the Onlinetradesmen brand cementing its place as Ireland’s #1 Home Improvement Marketplace.

The service has now processed over 1.2 million home improvement jobs to date, with over €20 million worth of jobs submitted for members every month. No other service delivers as much work to Tradespeople in Ireland - and we continue to work tirelessly to deliver relevant jobs, in relevant locations to our members.

Home Improvement Marketplace of the Year!

With so much happening in 2021, this review has been much about what to leave out as what to include. However, we could not sign off without mentioning one of the many accolades that the hard-working Onlinetradesmen team achieved during 2021.

In November, Onlinetradesmen was named the ‘Home Improvement Marketplace of the Year’ by the All-Ireland business foundation. This accreditation is a culmination of years of dedication and hard work and cements our position as the leader in our market.
