BEWARE COWBOY BUILDER. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. We hired Paul to complete a simple bathroom refurb which he promised would be finished in 3 days. The “work” took two weeks to complete. There was multiple problems during the work which he had to return to the house to fix. During the attempted fix, he sprung a leak under the bath, and another three days of work with his “plumber” was needed to fix that problem. Days later more staining appeared on the kitchen ceiling, and this time the leak had travelled down to the electrics in the kitchen. Paul again returned, this time accompanied by a “plumber” and an “electrician”(as if!) This time Paul promised the leak was from an old toilet part he had neglected to replace and that THIS time everything was fixed. No such luck. He of course promised there was nothing to worry about and our electrics would dry out just fine! Finally we hired a new plumber to look at our leaks. He reported: 6 separate leaks under the bath; bath incorrectly plumbed, fitted and not sealed. Waste pipe had not been replaced and had been re-fitted incorrectly. Used wall slabs instead of ply-wood. Installed screen door upside down which was causing a leak onto the floor. Incorrectly installed new radiator which was causing a leak and was air locked. Ignored a crack of the new toilet cistern and incorrectly installed the toilet. New plumber stated he was 100% certain no qualified plumber had ever been on site in our home. The new plumber re-plumbed the ENTIRE bathroom. We were lucky our entire ceiling didn’t cave in. An electrician was called to replace the kitchen sockets and re-certify the kitchen – he stated no electrician had ever been in the house. There was serious danger of electrocution from the damage caused. Our total repairs have run into the thousands and are not yet finished. Paul has admitted fault for everything and promised a refund. We are still waiting for the refund and have engaged a solicitor to look for compensation.

I hired this company to build a small front porch extension in October 2018 which was to be completed in 2-3 weeks, to date February 2019, it is still not complete. He demanded money 2 days into the job which was not agreed, we had to purchase materials for the job from the money we were to pay him which was new information. He never turned up for the job when he said he would. The front porch extension should be knocked down as the work is so shoddy it is not fit for purpose, even though not complete what was done is not professional and is certainly not providing quality services as their company profile states. Buyer Beware

Paul Broderick is pleasant to deal with, so I liked him, which is good. He has a nice fella working for him too. Paul boasted he'd complete bathroom renovation in 3 days but it stretched out to over 9 days, including 2 weekends. It was inconvenient having workers (even though they were polite and friendly) in the house with the kids at the weekend, but he had other jobs at the same time and additional ones waiting to start so I was afraid if I didn't provide weekend access, he might not complete. After the job, he added an extra €1000 to the bill, which was not agreed and I refused to pay. He said he spent time collecting materials (which I had said I'd do), so true, but it should be a curtesy given the pick-up didn't consume too much time. I had emailed him a list of materials I'd provide (tiles, shower tray, toilet sink etc), however, Paul pressed me to purchase the building materials too (grout, beading, timber) which resulted in an extra €500 to the charges. He installed the shower glass panel back to front, so the 'self cleaning' side is not facing the shower. He did not finish the skirting. He was to install a hot press around the existing cylinder, but he only put 2 shelves in, I ended up buying more timber to finish it off myself. He said he'd replace the ceiling, but he patched it up instead. Paul will get the job done, but the finish and detail could be better.
