We live in what was originally a small old cottage, with modern extensions. Because of all the add-ons, the heating system (which runs on oil) never worked properly, leaving two of the back rooms permanently cold, which we had to heat with electric radiators. We wanted to install a stove with a back-boiler, so we started looking for a plumber to take on the job. We went through about a dozen, most of them after calling out to take a look at the set-up, either refused to take it on (including a friend of the family!), or priced themselves out of the job. Eventually, we met Eamonn, who was confident he could install the new system, and was happy to explain how it worked. Apart from being a hell of a nice man, he really knew his stuff, and was completely undeterred by the obvious awkwardness of the task. So we asked him to come up with an estimate, not expecting it to be affordable. Turns out not only was it affordable, but was the most reasonable quote we got. So we went with him.
It took only three days to get the whole system in, it's been installed over a month now, and I am absolutely delighted with it. The back rooms (which have never been warm) are lovely and cozy. I can't remember the last time we've actually had to open a door or a window to let some of the heat OUT! I can't recommend Eamon strongly enough. Everyone knows how hard it is to get a decent plumber nowadays, and he is head and shoulders above any I've ever met. He was reliable, always on time, and a hard worker. He even tidied up as he went along, which in my experience is a rare trait in a tradesman!
