We live in a Victorian house dating from 1882. We wanted to change a low-ceilinged bedroom which adjoins the family room into a sunroom. The new room is modern yet very sympathetic to the existing house. There is no disjoint between the Victorian family room with its bay window and the timber architecture of the sunroom.
A very comfortable, easy room has been made for us. We particularly enjoy the view of the room from the garden at dusk, when a soft glow is given off by the electric light through the different sized windows. We also enjoy the play of both sunlight and moonlight through the two skylights onto the back wall.
The large windows give expansive views of the garden, Killiney Hill and most importantly, the sky. The projection has made a very natural window seat, a comfortable place for enjoying the garden. The holistic effect, with the walls and floors all made from the same material, creates a feeling of ease and relaxation, a room for reading and listening to Lyric FM.
