Pat did a great job of putting the bed together. I was also getting laminate floors down and as he said he did this kind of work i offered him that job and to construct a small box to cover a fuse board. He came out and gave a quote which I accepted, said he’d do it the bank holiday Monday, which I really appreciated and that was that. He came out but didn’t get it finished but said he’d be out during the week that was fine. He cancelled one day which was fine, I had to cancel the next day but gave him 2 days notice. He came out another day but still didn’t finish. Said he’d be out the Saturday. That was fine. I cancelled my plans to be here. Didn’t turn up, didn’t reply to my messages, he finally texted about lunchtime to say he couldn’t make it but would do it this weekend. Needless to say he hadn’t turned up and isn’t replying to messages or answering his phone. I stupidly gave him most of the money the first day and another €100 the last day as he told us he was stuck for petrol money. I’m now left with an unfinished job, some parts poorly finished, and a strip that I bought for between the doors is missing. I’m assuming because only €50 is left outstanding he can’t be bothered. I’m now in a situation where it’s going to cost me more than that to hire someone else to come out and finish the job and also fix the bits that were badly finished as well as having to replace the missing join. He seemed like a very nice trustworthy man but clearly I was wrong. If anyone reading this decides to ignore my review and hire him, make sure you don’t pay him until the job is done.
